Zip Lining Door County Wisconsin

There aren’t many places to zip line in Door County, but the locations that do offer zip lining are very highly reviewed and guarantee top-notch zip-lining and treetop touring experiences.

So while you aren’t spoilt for choice, sometimes less options makes it even harder to make a decision!

If you can, over time, why not visit all 3? Here are the best places for zip lining and high-roping in Door County:

1. Lakeshore Adventures

RATING: 4.9/5 | ZIP LINES: 2000 ft Canopy Tour | PRICE: $69.99 Adults / $59.99 Youths

Lakeshore Adventures offers an expertly designed 2,000-foot treetop canopy tour, Door County’s longest and most exciting course.

They’re the self-proclaimed number one best place for zip lining in Door County, and I agree with them!

The site is nestled into over 3,000 acres of Ridges Sanctuary and Mud Lake Wildlife Refuge, providing incredible panoramic views of Baileys Harbor and Moonlight Bay.

You can also check out some of the best hikes in Door County while you’re here.

But in terms of zip lining, first, you ascend a 35 ft platform which gives some incredible views over Ridges Sanctuary before launching yourself off the edge and taking flight across a 450 ft zip line to the first platform.

Then you’ll reconnect and zip across further trees and a huge pond, before crossing a 150 ft suspension bridge which will test your nerves, to say the least. I still remember my heart thumping the first time I did it!

After a short hike, you’ll then reach another 35 ft tower from which you can challenge a friend or family member to a race across a 600 ft zip line, side-by-side.

The course will take around one hour to complete, but you also need to make time for a safety briefing at the beginning.

As with all of these zip line parks, safety is the main priority at Lakeshore Adventures and their installation of new technology ensures for a smooth and comfortable ride, along with making sure that you can’t come to any harm.

It’s really reassuring to know this as when zip lining, you are putting your life in the hands of the equipment.

Lakeshore Adventures uses safe-stop brakes on their lines to ensure that you stop safely, comfortably and quickly at the end of each zip line.

Reservations at Lakeshore Adventures are compulsory and spots fill up very fast so I would recommend booking in advance.

The location also offers special events including birthday parties, work outings and youth groups, making it an ideal option if you’re planning a big event.

So if you’re looking for the best place to go zip lining in Door County, Lakeshore Adventures is the place to go.

2. Team Leadership Center, Sturgeon Bay

RATING: 4.8/5 | ZIP LINES: 3 Lines| PRICE: $65 per person

The Team Leadership Center location run by the Door County Adventure Center offers a thrilling zip line experience, featuring the highest zip line in the entire county.

With three zip lines spanning a range of over 1,000 feet, the center aims to provide an adrenaline-pumping experience over a beautiful forest setting.

The aerial views that you get during your exhilarating ride are breathtaking and you’ll be left feeling sad when the experience is over, pining to see the region from a birds-eye view again. One of my favorite parts of zip lining is the views you get when on the ropes.

The “crow’s nest” starting platform is the highlight for many on the course, giving some amazing views across the county before you even take off on the zip line.

With no age, weight or height restrictions at this location, zip lining is accessible to a wide range of budding participants and the professional guides will ensure that your safety is a top priority alongside having fun.

The zip lining tour operates in hourly sessions every day from 10 am to 4 pm making it pretty flexible to get a space, even at last minute, but reservations are still recommended, especially in the peak summer season.

3. Rowleys Bay Resort

An individual enjoying a zip line ride at Rowleys Bay Resort, Door County, with trees and clear skies in the background.

RATING: 4.7/5 | ZIP LINES: 8 Lines| PRICE: $65 per person

Last but by no means least of the best zip lining courses in Door County is at the Rowleys Bay Resort.

It’s run by the same company as the last one as Door County Adventure Center owns a second zip lining location which is in Rowleys Bay.

It offers an exciting tour route that has eight lines in total, so it’s filled with fun.

The canopy tour takes you higher than the treetops and gives some incredible and unparalleled views of Rowleys Bay and Lake Michigan – two of the best views in Door County.

The varied height and length of the zip lines on the course is what makes it so exhilarating with a new experience at every clip-on.

With lines more than double the average length, and much bigger than the Team Leadership Center, you’ll spend lots of time in the air and get to test your nerves with the high speeds.

The 30 ft suspension bridge and 40 ft platforms are the course’s highlights, adding some adventure into the mix and making for a more memorable experience.

Similar to their other location, Door County Adventure Center’s Rowleys Bay zip line course also has no weight or height limits making it accessible to all and the experienced guides will be on hand to guarantee your safety and help to make your adventure as enjoyable as possible.

Zip lining tours operate on a different schedule at this location running from 10.30 am to 3 pm each day from Thursday to Sunday. Tours depart every hour and a half. Make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment as there are less options than the previous spot.

Conclusion

Door County has a good selection of zip lining experiences on offer that would be great on a summer’s day for thrill-seekers and families alike.

With locations spread out across the county and all at a competitive price, it’s easy to access a zip lining tour or experience and each location has some great qualities to offer.

The longest zip lining course is located at Lakeshore Adventures but Door County Adventure Center’s locations are great rivals, home to great canopy tours which give some incredible birds-eye views across the landscape.

I hope you have an amazing time no matter where you choose to book your zip lining experience and make some unforgettable memories high above the trees!
